Overview

VTG is seeking an Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Elecrtronic Technician in San Diego, CA.

This position is contingent upon contract award.


What will you do?

Summary General technical knowledge to build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and electrical or electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Relies on instruction to include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serves as a technical resource for Electronic Security System installation activities. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with senior level technicians and draws routine sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic equipment.
  • Install multiple types of cabling to include: Cat5/6, low voltage, and fiber optic.
  • Recommends changes for electronic equipment installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Sets up standard test apparatus or devices test equipment to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data.
  • Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
  • May write technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
  • Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.


Do you have what it takes?

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • (4) years of maintenance experience with physical security access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection system hardware.
  • Certifications in Lenel, Software House, or DMP.
  • Experience supporting Electronic Security Systems (ESS) for the DoD including integration, configuration, network programming, testing, troubleshooting, cleaning, repairing, and replacing hardware and wiring.

  • Experience with Access Control Systems (ACS) such as Access Control Enforcer (ACE), etc.

  • Experience with Intrusion Detection System (IDS) such as DMP or Lenel, etc.

  • Experience with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) video surveillance systems such as Axis or Avigilon, etc.

  • Experience Mounting interior and exterior conduit to create new cable pathways, creating building wall penetrations, adding circuit breakers to electrical circuit panels.

Clearance:

  • Final Secret Clearance
  • Valid passport for international travel, with at least six months before expiration

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $21hr - 32hr which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
