Habitat Restoration Sciences, Inc. (HRS) is passionate about helping our clients build native habitats. We are a full-servicenative habitat restoration and general engineering firm specializing in installation and long term management of natural areas. Our corporate office is located in Vista and our team provides restoration services throughout California.

HRS is a Dudek company. Dudek has provided its clients with environmental, permitting, planning, engineering, construction and operational services since 1980. Our crews team with Dudek biologists, landscape architects and habitat restoration designers, engineers and hydrogeologists to provide a turn-key solution to native habitat restoration.

About the Job
To support our ongoing growth and success, we are seeking a team player who excels at leadership and professionalism to join Habitat Restoration Sciences, Inc (HRS). This position is responsible for the leading a field crew in the installation and maintenance of construction and landscape projects. Irrigation installation and maintenance experience are required. Our projects include building and restoring habitat in environmentally sensitive areas such as meadows, rivers and grasslands throughout both Northern and Southern California. Having project experience that includes working on habitat mitigation is key. This position reports to our Orange County area project site locations but requires frequent out of town work and travel.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the installation and maintenance of construction and landscape construction
  • Assign daily tasks to crew members, lead and provide training
  • Communicate and assist Supervisor with logistics, crew management and scheduling
  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles
  • Perform highly physical installation work on a consistent basis
  • Follow and administer all safety procedures and train employees
  • Administration of pesticide use and employee training
  • Training crew members in plant and weed identification
  • Communicate with Biologists and Site Owners regarding methods and progress of project
  • Complete daily project reports, site assessments, and task completions
  • Always represent the company's best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity
  • Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines
  • Maintain a clean site and secure equipment/tools
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by supervisor
Education and Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5 plus years' experience in construction and/or landscape
  • Experience managing a crew of 5 or more team members
  • Qualified Applicator License required/preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record required
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Ability to travel out of town/overnight
  • Ability to read and interpret plan sets, blue prints and site assessment reports
  • Experience with GPS, GIS, grade setting are preferred but not required
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, detail oriented
  • Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours and weekends
  • Experience on public works projects - City, County, State & Federal agencies
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels
Physical Requirements
Position requires consistently moving, walking, stooping, kneeling and bending. Frequently required to stand and walk. Driving for extended periods of time. Ability to push, pull, carry and lift 50 pounds multiple times per day. Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements 8 plus hours per day. Frequently walking on uneven terrain.Ability to push/pull/twist frequently when dealing with equipment. This can include heavy to moderate noise, close proximity to moving equipment or machinery. Exposure to materials, tools, herbicides and equipment used in construction and landscaping.

Proposed Salary Range:$22.00 - $34.00 hourly*
*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
