Primary Purpose
Advance Sempra's brand and values by supporting the Sempra Foundation and the company's corporate giving activities, and employee giving and volunteerism. Support the grantmaking program within Sempra Foundation, proactively innovating and developing partnerships in support of our giving priorities. Represent Sempra externally at key events and activities supporting giving priorities and external positioning. Run the day-to-day activities of My Energy, the employee giving program, and employee engagement activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the day-to-day needs of the Sempra Foundation, a 501(c)(3) private foundation, assisting operations, governance, quarterly Board of Directors meetings, tax, legal, audit and related compliance. Support the advancement of the foundation and corporate giving vision. Prepare regular reports and presentations to share outcomes and progress with internal stakeholders.
  • Runs the day-to-day activities of My Energy, the company's employee community involvement program. Fulfill employee-directed investments and related matching funds after organizations are vetted and qualified. Manage the Sempra Employee Giving Network.
  • Supports the research, development and evaluation of new funding opportunities in support of grants tied to giving priorities. Support the grant application and data verification process. Build and maintain active relationships with nonprofit partners to strengthen the impact of our philanthropic strategy. Represent Sempra externally at key events and activities supporting giving priorities.
  • Supports external involvement initiatives with partnership fulfillment, securing and tracking attendance to events, providing advertisements, logos, social media information, talking points and event support, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
