Production Control Analyst - Levels I & II

SUMMARY

Analyze information, data and processes to improve material availability in support of production's adherence to the master schedule. Conduct material research to eliminate the need for production supervisors to leave the work site. Promote communication between departments supporting production. Maintain metrics, which illustrate current performance. Maintains internal contact with Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Proactively researches material availability so that all work packages can be released as close as possible to our stated goal of 100% available prior to the scheduled start date
  • Develops and maintains data analysis tools and macros using programming skills to assist its own and other departments as requested.
  • Update work schedules as required to support the master schedule and take actions necessary to insure all materials can support schedule revisions
  • Coordinates with receiving, warehousing, and NASSCO fabrication shops to mitigate any schedule impact problems because of late material.
  • Ensure that the production control parameters are set up per established Engineering, Production, and Planning guidance documents/agreements, and accurately supports the master plan.
  • Conflict resolution between Engineering, Production, Planning, Materials and other support departments.
  • Integration of Engineering, Material, Planning, and Production requirements, and initiatives.
  • Report material availability and shortages status to Ship's Management and Trade Supervision as requested.
  • Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, plus at least three (3) years' experience in material handling processes.
  • Advanced in MS Office suite and computerized material systems (MACPAC and Jira).
  • Proficient use of VBA mandatory. Knowledge of Python and SQL preferred.
  • Experience designing and developing business intelligence dashboards using Tableau or similar software
  • Understanding of EVMS methodology and experience with Deltek software a plus.
  • Professional oral and written communications is essential.
  • Trade specific knowledge a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work primarily conducted in an office setting with good lighting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing. Must be physically able to commute to buildings throughout the shipyard. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise. Position requires employees to carry, raise, lower, push or pull objects up to 25 lbs.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Ensure that material availability is maximized at the job site. Use sound production control and business principles, communication, coordination and foresight to manage the workflow and level loads as necessary.

PAY SCALE

Level I $64,000 - $82,800

Level II $68,200 - $93,800

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
