Lincoln Land Community College is seeking a Student Worker for the Academic Innovation & eLearning department to provide front-line Canvas support and basic technical support to students at the Canvas Student Support desk.
Student Workers will perform the following duties:

- Provide phone and walk-up technical support for students with entry level Canvas questions
- Assist end-users with commonly used hardware and software associated with Canvas and other course technology tools used at LLCC
- Under supervision, support faculty with updates to documents and media to comply with accessibility requirements
- Offer occasional technical support to faculty teaching in LLCC classrooms
- May occasionally be expected to assist with other department initiatives away from the Canvas Student Support desk
All LLCC Student Workers have the following institutional responsibilities:
- Uphold LLCC’s mission, as well as certain standards of conduct within the College and in dealings with students, staff, faculty and the general public.
- Responsible for compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other regulations with regard to confidentiality of and access to student and other institutional records.
Student Workers will be paid minimum wage. ONLY students eligible for Federal Work Study will be considered for this position.. Students will be scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week during office hours which are Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM.
Requirements include the following:
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) during the semester of employment, with the exception of summer term
- Complete LLCC’s mandatory harassment prevention training within 30 days of employment
- Experience using Canvas
- Knowledge of both Windows and Mac operating systems
- Excellent communication, customer service, and troubleshooting skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer and mobile device experience/knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office products
- Ability to learn new or unfamiliar software/applications and hardware quickly
- Experience with Adobe products, web-based media and graphic software applications (preferred)
- Previous technical support experience (preferred)
If working with minors, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
