Description

We seek applicants for a full-time position within Enrollment Services to lead the development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive testing program for the College including placement testing, course testing, and high stakes exams. The Director will strategically develop resources and oversee daily operations of the Testing Center.

 

General responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise Testing Center staff, providing leadership and development to the team
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Testing programs for the College by engaging with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain high standards of service needed to retain the National College Testing Association certification at the Testing Center
  • Attain and maintain exam certifications such as Pearson VUE, HiSET, and CNA; create and implement training resources
  • Collect and maintain accurate data for program evaluation, assessment, and strategic planning for the Testing Center and prepare related reports as necessary; review data to monitor trends and formulate recommendations and action plans
  • Lead, coordinate, and guide long-range planning to include recommendations for changes in standards, procedures, and practices that impact the Testing Center
  • Develop and oversee budget, operation, and expenditures for Testing Center

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of and experience with assessment methods and results
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to uphold high standards of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and inclusively with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff and external organizations
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evening and weekends

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with placement instruments at the community college level
  • Knowledge and experience in student development theory, admissions/records, or other student personnel area
  • Supervisory and budget management experience
  • Familiarity with student information software, preferably PeopleSoft
