Basic Function and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain engagement and relationship strategy and activities for the college's P-20 (preschool through post-secondary education) partners. Work collaboratively with education partners to create and implement pathways from secondary education, through Oakton Community College, to four-year institutions. Manage the college's articulation process including Illinois Articulation Initiative, as well as Illinois Community College Board articulation agreements (Form 13).

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the college's transition strategy in collaboration with division deans and faculty, as well as appropriate Student Affairs partners.
  • Administer Oakton's Dual Credit initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with district high schools, faculty, and staff in order to increase and support Dual Credit curricula.
  • Develop and support an institutional program for the Credit for Prior Learning. Work with Department Chairs, faculty, the Alliance for Lifelong Learning, and other stakeholders in order to establish a comprehensive and sustainable CPL initiative.
  • Cultivates effective working relationships and communications with college and university articulation/transfer representatives to create new articulation agreements and transfer plans.
  • Working with the Office of Institutional Research and the Dean of Curriculum and instruction, provide data and analyze data that informs and guides Academic Affairs annual strategic and tactical planning.
  • Serve as a member of the Academic Strategy Team, Enrollment Management Team, Student Success Team, and other college Committees/Task Forces/ Working Groups as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 


Job Requirements:


Qualifications and Working Conditions:

  • Master's Degree in Education (Curriculum, Assessment, Educational Leadership, or related emphasis); or comparable field. Comprehensive knowledge of current theory and practice in assessment of student learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness is required.
  • Knowledge of research methodology including survey design and administration, focus group protocol, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, mixed methods approaches, report-writing and presentation skills.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in design and management of program evaluation and assessment and/or other types of outcomes-based fields.
  • Expert knowledge of standard desktop computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
  • Must possess highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to present controversial information, diverse opinion and to persuade. Must be able to handle all duties and information in a confidential manner.
  • Organizational skill including the ability to adequately establish time frames and deadlines; to meet deadlines and to follow through.
  • Work is performed in a general office environment. Some travel is required.

Physical Demands:

Light lifting up to 10 lbs and light carrying up to 10 lbs. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping. Mobility to move from building to building on-Campus and to visit off-Campus entities. Work is performed in a general office environment and sedentary in nature. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions.

Supervision Received:

Administrative supervision is received from the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Supervision Exercised:

Administrative and functional supervision is exercised over classified staff which support college transitions.

Salary Range: $116,000 - $131,000

Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have hybrid schedule options available after 30 working days.

Oakton is accessible by public transportation.
