Job Description:

The Georgia Child Care Association Chief Executive Officer is a high-level leadership role responsible for guiding the organization's overall strategy, operations, and mission fulfillment. The CEO will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, managing the office and its staff. This position reports to the Board of Directors and plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's success, financial sustainability, and its ability to make a positive impact on the early childhood education and care industry in Georgia. The CEO will act as the public face of the organization and is responsible for building relationships with stakeholders, donors, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Vision:

  • Develop, communicate, and implement the organization's mission, vision, and strategic direction.
  • Provide dynamic leadership to staff, inspiring a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the board of directors to set organizational goals and objectives.

Organizational Management:

  • Oversee the effective functioning of the organization's office, including administrative tasks, resource management, member engagement and responsiveness, and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and ensure alignment with the organization's mission and strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and maintain effective policies, procedures, and best practices.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the organization's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
  • Ensure the organization operates within its budget and implements sound financial management practices.

Fundraising and Development:

  • Collaborate with the board to support fundraising efforts and donor engagement.

Board Governance:

  • Report to the board of directors on the organization's performance, financial status, and strategic goals.
  • Work with the board to recruit, onboard, and engage new board members.
  • Collaborate with board committees to drive organizational initiatives.

Staff Management and Development:

  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Compliance and Advocacy:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Represent the organization in public policy discussions related to its field.
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with DECAL, in collaboration with the Lobbyist.

Public Relations and Community Engagement:

  • Serve as the public face of the organization, building and maintaining strong relationships with the community, stakeholders, and the media, in collaboration with the Lobbyist.
  • Effectively communicate the organization's work, impact, and mission to various audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Nonprofit Management), master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as an executive director, CEO, or in a leadership role within a related organization, preferably within the early childhood education and care industry.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with the early childhood education industry in Georgia, including regulatory, legislative, and quality standards.
  • Previous experience as a childcare business owner or operator is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the Georgia Child Care Association, its mission, and its activities.
  • Certified Association Executive designation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
