Your Role

The Pharmacy Market Experience team is responsible for the production and management of pharmacy-specific marketing communications and digital/mobile experience across multiple lines of business. The Marketing Communications Specialist, Consultant will report to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Market Experience. In this role, you will support the work being performed in connection with the implementation of multiple pharmacy service providers, as well as the management of marketing communications and collateral across all channels and lines of business which promote pharmacy benefits, products/services, and clinical and business objectives.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Work with cross-functional teams across multiple business units to align on priorities and develop comprehensive communication strategies
  • Develop communication programs that incorporate a full spectrum of tools and tactics (from traditional letters and marketing collateral to digital content)
  • Create communication through the eyes of the customer - developing holistic experiences and meaningful touch-points
  • Use data to measure success and continually optimize results (open rates, response rates, return mail, list health, etc.)
  • Use communication to mitigate risks through crisis management, constituent engagement, and customer service
  • Serve as a pharmacy communication and marketing SME to produce internal/external communications and work collaboratively with internal teams and governance committees as needed to meet corporate and regulatory requirements, and ensure alignment to branding/marketing guidelines, including day-to-day management of team's operational responsibilities
  • Support vendor oversight of delegated communications to ensure they are delivered timely, accurately and align with intended business requirements and member experience
  • Manage or support the work connected with annual communications (i.e., product cycle changes, AEP and 1/1 readiness) and marketing reviews across all lines of business
  • Manage and update collateral inventory and letter templates per regulatory or accreditation agencies or due to changing business requirements
  • Manage or optimize business processes associated with communication management

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires prior experience in development and management of healthcare-related communications and marketing materials, with strong knowledge around Commercial and Medicare LOBs
  • Requires prior experience as a copy editor and strong project manager capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Must be able to work independently, using individual judgment and making informed decisions that align with the team's performance and work product standard
  • Knowledge and experience in working with regulatory or compliance oversight agencies and teams
  • Experience working with project management apps/tools, DAM platforms and Jira/GRID/Confluence is a plus


Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is: $ 109120.00 to $ 163680.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
