Salary: Level C - $140,433 - $161,926 p.a. OR Level D - $169,094 - $186,288 p.a. (pro rata for part-time) plus 17% super

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional to take on the role of Director of Assessment within the Department of Medical Education. As a key figure in the innovative redesign of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, you will play a crucial role in shaping the assessment landscape and fostering continuous improvement. This executive-level position offers a unique chance to lead the transformation of assessment practices, ensuring they align with the program's commitment to evidence-based and student-centered education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and contribute to the maintenance of quality and continuous improvement within the DME’s assessment programs
  • Lead innovative approaches to assessment in line with reforms to curriculum structure and delivery for all DME education activities
  • Develop and implement a program of assessment related research which is informed by and subsequently informs the educational programs of the Department of Medical Education

Who We Are Looking For

You possess exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering collaborations with diverse stakeholders. Your adept time management and project leadership drive research-based curriculum innovations to success.

You will also have:

  • A health professional degree, registerable as a health practitioner in Australia
  • An educational higher degree or diploma
  • A research higher degree in the area of medical education
  • Deep knowledge of the theory and practice of assessment in medical education, including programmatic assessment, and the technologies required for effective assessment and feedback delivery systems
  • Demonstrated scholarship in the field of assessment in medical education
  • Demonstrated leadership in scholarly, research and/or professional activities.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
