PART- TIME FACULTY, FIRE TECHNOLOGY
This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time faculty (up to 67%) or temporary substitute assignments on an as needed basis.
We accept part-time faculty applications on a continual basis.
Departments or Divisions will refer to the pool of applications on file, as needed, to fill temporary assignments.
The number of part-time faculty hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application will be maintained in this part-time faculty pool for 12 months.Discover Career Education in Fire Technology
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Any bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience OR the equivalent. Must also have the recommended years of professional experience from the SFT Procedures Manual.
Any associate's degree from an accredited institution and one (1) or more of the following certifications:- Certified SFT Fire and Emergency Services Instructor 1 or
- Certified SFT Instructor I or
- Certified SFT Training Instructor 1 or
- Certified SFT Fire Instructor 1 or
- SFT Historically Recognized Fire Fighter 1 & 2 Academy Instructor Ethical Leadership in the Classroom or Ethical Leadership for Instructors or
- (Fire- Fighter Instructors who were instructing on or before December 31, 2018 with SFT Fire Instructor 1A and 1B or ST Training Instructor 1A and 1B.

Experience:- Applicant shall have held the rank of Fire Fighter performing suppression duties within a recognized fire agency in California for a minimum of three (3) years.
Candidates may qualify under one of the following:
Option 1- Bachelor's degree and (3) three years of experience + certification
- Associate's degree and (6) six years of experience + certification
