Assist the Coordinator of Community Programs and other coworkers in the coordination of the Kids’ College Program. Assist with supervision of Kids’ College Camp Counselors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or higher
- Experience working with K – 6th grade children, parents, and teachers in a school setting
- Prior community college or volunteer experience
- Demonstrated capacity for project or event coordination
- Excellent customer service skills
Essential Functions
- Assist in the day-to-day operation of Kid’s College.
- Assist in the supervision of Kids’ College Camp Counselors and all associated activities
- Provide the Coordinator of Community Programs updates of staff activities or concerns
- Travel in town as required
- Distribute supplies needed for Kids’ College classes
- Assist Coordinator in overall preparation, registration, coordination, and supervision of the Kids’ College program
- Communicate program participant disciplinary issues with parents
- Substitute for instructors, if needed
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Duties indoors and some outdoors; must be able to work in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat, rain or other types of inclement weather
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking
- Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds
- Use of manual dexterity
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
