Job Summary

Assist the Coordinator of Community Programs and other coworkers in the coordination of the Kids’ College Program. Assist with supervision of Kids’ College Camp Counselors.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or higher
  • Experience working with K – 6th grade children, parents, and teachers in a school setting
  • Prior community college or volunteer experience
  • Demonstrated capacity for project or event coordination
  • Excellent customer service skills

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of Kid’s College.
  • Assist in the supervision of Kids’ College Camp Counselors and all associated activities
  • Provide the Coordinator of Community Programs updates of staff activities or concerns
  • Travel in town as required
  • Distribute supplies needed for Kids’ College classes
  • Assist Coordinator in overall preparation, registration, coordination, and supervision of the Kids’ College program
  • Communicate program participant disciplinary issues with parents
  • Substitute for instructors, if needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Duties indoors and some outdoors; must be able to work in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat, rain or other types of inclement weather
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking
  • Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Min Salary

$20.00 per hour

Max Salary

$25.00 per hour

Pay Statement

Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
