SUMMARY

The Enrollment Specialist/Recruiter shall be responsible to the Director of Enrollment Services on the Wesson Campus and to the Vice President at the Simpson and Natchez campuses for the guidance functions of the College as indicated in the responsibilities listed below.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Executes all duties assigned by the Director of Enrollment Services on the Wesson Campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
2. Assists with the development of yearly comprehensive recruitment plans and strategies.
3. Assists with the development of recruitment materials.
4. Presents workshops to high school seniors and juniors in the Copiah-Lincoln Community College District.
5. Conducts spring follow-up visits in the district high schools with seniors who are planning to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
6. Attends College Fairs at district high schools.
7. Assists with all on-campus and off-campus recruitment of students.
8. Assists with maintaining Copiah-Lincoln Community College social networking sites.
9. Plans and conducts individual and group campus visits.
10. Presents scholarships to high school seniors at awards programs/graduation.
11. Serves as an advisor and schedules activities for the Trailblazer Student Recruitment Team.
12. Collects information regarding educational and career opportunities and disseminate such information to the students.
13. Assists students with pre-registration, course advisement, schedule changes, and withdrawals.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, student services, or a closely related field is required.
  • One (1) year of work experience in a professional setting.
  • Ability to maintain concise records/files.
  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of effective customer service techniques and relationship-building skills.
  • Office computer skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous work experience at a college or university.
  • Previous work experience with the following
    —College admissions procedures
    —student recruitment
    —social media campaigns
    —academic advisement
    —use of a Student Information System (SIS)
ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS:
  • The work environment is an office setting with moderate noise.
  • The position will require frequent travel to schools in the colleges seven county district.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
