JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF GRANT DEVELOPMENT 

DEPARTMENT: STRATEGIC PLAN & GRANTS

SALARY RANGE: $55,000 - $65,000 

FLSA: EXEMPT

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: College Director of Strategic Planning and Grant Development

SCHEDULE DETAILS: Full-time/12-month position/PEERS


 

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Grant Development is responsible for the management of the college’s comprehensive grant program, which includes the management of pre- and post-award functions. This position will research, develop, and administer private, state, and federal awards. The position is responsible for working closely with the College Director of Strategic Planning and Grant Development to ensure the college is securing external resources to support the mission and priorities of the institution. As a member of the Strategic Planning and Grant Development Team, this position will also assist with college planning functions.


 

Essential Job Duties

  • Coordinate a comprehensive grant development program including grant prospect research and all pre- and post-award activity.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all tasks related to submitting college grant funding proposals, including letters of inquiry, outlines, proposals, budgets, and grant narratives.
  • Provide grant oversight to ensure programmatic functions are in compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of reports as required by funding agencies.
  • Ensure grant deadlines are met and major milestones are reached as outlined in approved grant proposals.
  • Develop and maintain internal processes, procedures, and resources to facilitate grant development and management.
  • Collaborate with grant financial personnel to monitor grant budgets and allowable expenditures.
  • Oversee and maintain a grant database of potential funding sources, applications, deadlines, and funding statuses for proposals.
  • Provide regular updates to the college’s grant and finance offices on the progress of grant applications and funded grant programs.
  • Assist with the coordination of the college’s strategic and institutional planning processes.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and execute projects with aggressive deadlines independently.
  • Three years of experience in grant writing, grant compliance, or grant management experience.
  • Experience in technical, research, or grant writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, secure, and manage federal grant awards.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Ability to research, synthesize, and write for a number of audiences and purposes.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes.
  • Five years of grant writing, grant compliance, or grant management experience.
  • Knowledge of federal grant processes and management.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
