The mission of Wytheville Community College is to provide a quality, comprehensive education for the citizens of the counties of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe and the city of Galax. Wytheville Community College (WCC) at the Henderson is looking for a Front Desk Support position. This position will be required to work at WCC at the Henderson. The position has the following responsibilities: Assisting students and potential students about WCC programs and offerings; Providing students and guests with direct contact of WCC staff who can provide services; Answering the main telephone; Providing administrative support and technical assistance to students, employees, and community patrons through coordinating the day to day activities of WCC at the Henderson; Providing excellent customer service; and other duties that may be assigned.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications and database management; and
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, multi-faceted office environment.
