The Foundation for Community Impact & Healthy Equity is a nonprofit 501(c)3 designated organization based in Ridgeway, SC. Our mission is to transform policies, systems, and practices to create equitable health outcomes in rural underserved communities. We work to build capacity in communities and offer project management, training, and strategy to improve health outcomes. Our organization has vast expertise in the following public health areas: chronic disease prevention and management, nutrition and food access, minority health and health equity and maternal and child health. We are engaged with local communities and work with them to create relevant and sustainable solutions focused on addressing the social determinants of health. We service the entire state with special focus in the Midlands and Pee Dee areas.

Position Summary:

The Foundation seeks a Development Coordinator who will lead the overall fund development function. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and measuring an organization-wide individual giving and stewardship strategy that advances relationships and ensures the attainment of contributed income goals. This position will develop grant proposals focused on the Foundations various public health projects. This includes planning, organizing, and directing all of the organization's partnerships & fundraising including, corporate sponsorships, annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, special events, capital campaigns, and grants. This position will also serve as project assistant will be responsible for administrative and event coordinator/planning tasks of the USDA NRCS Equity & Conservation Project ESCAPE Grant deliverables.

Location:

This is a remote position in the State of South Carolina.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Maintain and increase grant support for the Foundation including research, identify, and qualify funding opportunities as well as attending strategy meetings.*

· Grant proposal development: identifying needs; identifying funding sources; crafting proposals; providing technical support for proposal development; maintaining grant-related record keeping and conducting grant-related research. *

· Assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, workplans, timelines, staffing, budget, standards of performance, evaluation, executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.*

· Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.*

· Serve as project assistant will be responsible for administrative tasks of the grant and support data collection, report submission and other major project activities for the grant. *

· Defines and develops the Foundation’s event growth plan, including identification of key objectives, strategy, tactics, risks, and industry opportunities. *

· Assist with researching, selecting, and preparing written information as needed, coordinate scheduling for events and meetings and provide administrative support for conservation practices trainings and demonstration sites.*

· Acts as a representative of the Foundation for existing corporate and event relationships also for the purpose of identifying new prospects and presenting proposals.*

· Work collaboratively with leadership to develop a range of impactful and engaging donor-centric giving opportunities including annual fund, monthly, mid-level and major giving programs.*

· Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing and Communications teams, to create and deliver multi-channel (print, email, web, social media, phone) fundraising and donor communication campaigns, including donor solicitations, end-of-year giving campaigns and impact reports.*

· Serve as a lead on any future fundraising events, overseeing logistics and revenue generating activities, including creating budgets, securing and coordinating speakers and vendors, and collaborating with internal teams.*

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess many of the following professional and personal abilities, attributes, and experiences:

· Candidate must be based in South Carolina.

· Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, special emphasis on Public Health, Non-Profit Management or closely related field.

· Proven experience in non-profit development, grant writing, and reporting.

· Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the grant writing field.

· Three or more years of grant writing, prospect research, general fundraising or a minimum of two years comparable and transferable skills acquired in a professional setting.

· Paramount to this position is the ability to work with a high degree of independence, managing various projects at once with autonomy, while maintaining a clear view of how each advances the organization's mission*

· Strategic thinker with the ability to utilize data to create effective fund development approaches.

· Proven history of success fundraising in a similar model and environment

· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, who can influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.

· Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail, be customer-focused, and can work both independently without close oversight, but also be a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels

· Candidates should also have a knowledge of tax planning principles and techniques that favor charitable giving and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

· Strong ability with and appreciation for collaboration in a dynamic organizational model; a team player excited and willing to roll up their sleeves and pitch in as needed for the good of the organization.

· Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships with internal and external audiences, listen, inspire, motivate and leverage those relationships to cultivate additional opportunities.

· Successful history of strategic thinking, proposal development, presenting and experience closing large commitments.

Salary Range of Commensurate with education and experience.
