Job Description:
The Assistant Dean of Administration for the DCC Association reports to the Associate Vice President of Administration and serves as the accounting officer, acts as an information provider, an analytical and advisory resource for administration, and a participant in the resolution of business and finance problems. The Assistant Dean is a key member of a finance team responsible for the overall financial and business affairs, internal controls, policies and procedures as they relate to the DCC Association.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for authorizing purchases and payments, and the supervision of all records involved in the operations of the DCC Association;
  • Preparation, submission, and administration of the DCC Association budgets, operating reports and grants;
  • Perform all necessary correspondence relating to the DCC Association insurance, monitor the insurance needs of the Association and recommend changes, when necessary, to the Board of Directors;
  • Assist external auditors with annual audits of the Association;
  • Assist in preparation of annual 5500;
  • Assist auditors in preparation of 990;
  • Coordinate the operation of the Junk Stripe, exchange accounts and other income producing activities under the auspices of the DCC Association, Inc.;
  • Provide direct supervision to the Association's staff accountant;
  • Act as liaison to the DCC Association Board of Directors, prepare all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to the Association Board of Directors;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Administration, Associate Vice President of Administration and the DCC Board of Directors.


Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance required, CPA preferred.

Experience: Five years managerial experience in finance and budgeting at an institution of higher education or nonprofit is required. Other qualifications include supervisory experience, computer application skills, strong interpersonal communication and presentations skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
