Currently celebrating its 150th year, Bennett College is a historically Black liberal arts college for women in Greensboro, NC. With a 7/1 student/faculty ratio, Bennett is an intentional micro-college providing an intimate, engaging learning community that centers on the experiences and achievements of women of color. Bennett College is seeking new faculty who can contribute to the development of innovative and forward-leaning programs and curricula that prepare students for impactful civic engagement and leadership roles in their personal and professional lives. GENERAL SUMMARY: Full-time non-tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with the opportunity to move into a tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach courses and the associated labs in at least three of the following areas: general biology, anatomy, physiology, botany, developmental biology, and molecular biology. The teaching load is 12 hours per semester, typically three four-credit courses offered on an innovative and flexible “minimester” schedule. Candidates should have teaching and mentoring experience at the post-secondary level; ideal candidates will also have peer-reviewed publications. Candidates should have a record of success in securing outside funding or be able to demonstrate the potential to do so. M.S. or Ph. D. in biology or a related field is required, Ph. D. is preferred. Candidates with the M.S. only should have research/lab and teaching experience.
