Job Summary/Basic Function:
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative Human Resources Coordinator, reporting to the Director, Human Resource Operations.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies:
- Work with Marketing to source and attract candidates through various channels, including social media, career fairs, and networking:
- Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates for open positions:
- Conduct interviews and assessments, checking references, and making recommendations to hiring managers:
- Coordinate and participate in job fairs, campus recruiting, and other recruitment events:
- Manage the entire recruitment process, from posting job openings to extending offers of employment:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations:
- Create and manage recruitment pipelines and ensure a smooth candidate experience:
- Utilize an applicant tracking system to manage candidate data and recruitment metrics:
- Provide support and guidance to hiring managers on best practices in recruitment and selection:
- Assist with HR Administrative tasks including being the back-up for the Benefits Administrator and Payroll Administrator:
- HR Projects including policy updates, employee surveys, or employee engagement initiatives:
Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, hearing, vision, and talking
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition and recruitment.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management ability
- Proficiency in using HR software and applicant tracking systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information:
Desirable Qualifications:
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
- Experience in a higher education or similar setting
