Essential Job Duties

The purpose of the research is to evaluate fungal endophyte stability in forage, turf and native grasses. Duties include: Sample processing, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, sample collection from fields. Microscopy of plant and fungal samples. Lab organization. Making media and isolating and maintaining microorganisms, and organizing cultures and samples. Graphing and summarizing data, working with Microsoft office and google suites.

Minimum Experience/Education

  • Combination of training and experience required to perform the
    duties

Department Required Skills

  • Experience with molecular biology, DNA extraction and PCR
  • Experience working with computer software (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Zoom)
  • Familiarity with Google suite applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • BS in Biology, Plant Biology or similar field

Required License or Certification

  • Valid driver’s license
