The position requires at least:
- Master’s degree in Humanities or
- Master’s degree in Liberal Arts with a humanities core or
- Master’s degree in qualifying field with 18 graduate semester hours representing at least three of the following qualifying fields:
o American Studies with a humanities topic focus
o Art
o Art History
o Classics
o English/Literature
o Foreign Languages with a humanities topic focus
o Humanities
o Interdisciplinary Studies with humanities focus
o Liberal/General Studies with humanities focus
o Music
o Philosophy
o Religion/Theology

Job Description
This is a tenure-track position that will begin in August 2024.
- Humanities faculty are expected to teach HUM 1020 – Introduction to Humanities and other HUM courses as needed.
- HCC faculty are expected to contribute to the college community through committee work, on-going professional development, and collaborative curriculum development.
- Love of teaching is primary.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer applicants with:
- Community college teaching experience
- Experience working with a diverse population.
- Experience with online teaching and online curriculum development

Pay Rate
A faculty member shall be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the contract with the faculty union.
- Grade 2: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the field $49,922.71
- Grade 2+: Master’s Degree with 30 graduate semester hours in the field $52,479.32
- Grade 1: Earned Doctor in major field $55,037.06
