GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under limited supervision, performs administrative, record keeping, educational, and technical work related to student instruction in a classroom setting. Work involves preparing and delivering quality instructional activities related to student success; preparing, administering, and grading assessment activities; maintaining records related to students and course delivery; preparing and submitting necessary documentation for accreditation; demonstrating professionalism & modeling employability skills; and maintaining competency in their instructional field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to college rules/policies/procedures.
  • Teaches assigned Welding courses in traditional, hybrid, and blended settings. Prepares lesson plans, updates curriculum, course syllabi, handouts, tests, etc. Responsible for gathering resources for classes, preparing practical/lab exercises, grading assignments, and completing reports/forms related to classes and programs
  • Maintains open and professional communication with BCC (faculty, staff, supervisors, administration, etc.), students, community members, and representatives from business entities.
  • Supports the student access, success and completion agenda.
  • Fosters a collegial relationship among colleagues and partners.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in Welding Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Work experience in the welding industry.
  • Flexible working hours, typically evening and may include Saturday work.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Experience with classroom technology, Microsoft Word, and learning management systems.
  • Ability to work with diverse faculty/student population and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • NC3/Lincoln credentials and certification in welding.
  • Post-secondary teaching and outcome assessment experience in a related field.
  • Two or more years of welding experience.
  • Current industry-recognized certifications.
