POSITION SUMMARY: Applications are invited for a non-tenure-track assistant professor position in the Moravian University School of Business and Economics in Fall 2024. Successful candidates will have both (1) a master's degree in an appropriate field (accounting, tax, or information systems) and (2) professional certification (CPA, CMA, or CISA). A law degree can be substituted for those candidates interested in teaching federal income taxation. The School has a strong interest in candidates who can teach a wide range of accounting courses in one or more of the following fields: federal income taxes, financial accounting, managerial accounting, and accounting information systems, including data analytics. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in multiple modalities (on-site, online, hybrid) in accounting across multiple degree programs.
  • Teach and/or oversee coursework in at least one of the following areas: financial accounting, federal income tax, managerial accounting and information systems.
  • Supervise undergraduate student research.
  • Participate in professional organizations and societies.
  • Contribute to the institution's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
  • Actively participate in service to the University through academic advising, committee membership, and/or mentorship of student clubs and organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Either:

  • M.B.A. in accounting, M.S. in accounting, or equivalent. A law degree will be considered for those who wish to teach federal income taxes.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or CISA)
