A music therapist provide music therapy to cancer survivors.
· A music therapist will be onsite, with their own instruments for 4-6 hours a week for 48 weeks a year.
· The music therapist will approach patients and ask if they would like the therapist to play and/or sing for them. The therapist will provide music and emotional support to each person as deemed appropriate.
· The therapist also will be available to provide music for the space in general.
· The therapist will ask patients to complete a short demographic intake form with a brief evaluation after meeting with them. This will be encouraged but not required.
· The therapist will offer patients information about additional Cancer Support Community Central Ohio programming.
· The therapist will follow all COVID-19 protocols to ensure patient and staff safety.
· The therapist will maintain confidentiality of all patients.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Music Therapists are required to have the following:
· Must be a licensed music therapist in the state of Ohio. Documentation of licensure and malpractice insurance coverage is required.
· Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience, oncology experience is preferable.
· Willingness to master and implement CSC psychosocial support methods, participate in ongoing clinical supervision, and the overall experience of a therapeutic community.
· Ability to work well with groups or individuals with serious chronic and/or terminal illness.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
