Human Resources team 
  • Recruits candidates for open roles
  • Conducts onboarding for new employees
  • Assists with employee relations matters
  • Maintains employee records
  • Updates policies, procedures and supporting documentation
  • Tracks and monitors required certifications
  • Processes employee benefits, FML, UIC, WC

Who We Are - Come join the Human Resources Team
The Children's Center, a non-profit agency, is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young children, one family at a time. Our mission is to nurture and educate children and their families. We provide opportunities for education, parenting support and resources to families in our communities. The Children's Center offers a variety of programs including the federally funded Early Head Start/Head Start programs which provides no cost services to qualifying families. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and children from birth to age five. Whether through high-quality childcare in our classrooms, educational home visits to families with younger children, or therapeutic services for children with developmental delays or disabilities, our goal is to partner with families to foster healthy development of children, from pregnancy to preschool.

  • 3+ years experience in the human resource field
  • 1+ years experience in talant managment/acquisition, including exempt and non-exempt recruitment
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or HR certification

Detailed Education and Qualificaiton Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or a related field from an accredited university/college
  • Three (3) plus years’ experience in HR or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of federal and local labor laws
  • Knowledge of Head Start program rules and regulations preferred
  • Full life cycle talent management/acquisition experience
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR or higher credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS/HRIS is a plus
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on driving results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the business drivers in the industry
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
  • Valid Driver’s License with ability to drive between school locations
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, tuberculosis screen and drug screen
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including weekends
