Haitian Bridge Alliance, Inc. (HBA) also known as “The BRIDGE” is a 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit community organization that advocates for fair and humane immigration policies and provides migrants and immigrants with humanitarian, legal, and social services, with a particular focus on Black migrants, the Haitian community, women and girls, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and survivors of torture and other human rights abuses. HBA works to elevate the issues unique to Black migrants and build solidarity and collective movement toward policy change.

About the Role
The Haitian Bridge Alliance is hiring a Resource Navigator in San Diego, California to plan, coordinate, and direct the human resources of a soon-to-be opened Community Center in San Diego. The Resource Navigator duties will involve people and culture, including managing activities such as job design, recruitment, interview process, employee relations, performance management, training & development and talent management. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the Community Center Director, this role will be key to ensuring the Community Center successfully provides holistic services to the Afro-descendent immigrant community including recent arrivals.


  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall organizational strategy
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process
  • Support current and future organizational needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
  • Nurture a positive working environment
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management



  • 2-3 years of working experience in HR
  • SHRM or PHR certification is a plus
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices Haitian Kreyol a plus


Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
