Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and many other activities.

Germanna Community College is enthusiastically seeking an innovative, student-centered, and equity-minded Director of Enrollment Services/Registrar. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Services and Equity Advancement, the Registrar/Director of Enrollment Services is responsible for planning and implementing services that enhance onboarding and the student experience, as well as support the student achievement of academic and career goals. This position is responsible for providing leadership for strategic planning, assessment, and budget oversight for all Enrollment Services units. This position provides innovative leadership for integrated enrollment services at all college locations. Areas of responsibility include; Admissions and Records, Transcript Evaluation, International Student Services, Welcome Centers, the Enrollment Lab, Student Help Desk, Graduation and Commencement.
This position serves as the chair for the Calendar Committee, the Commencement Committee, and the co‐chair of the
Enrollment Management Task Force. This position administers academic and student‐related policies, the college
catalog, curriculum programming in Navigate, SIS and Acalog and analyzes AdAstra and enrollment to interface with
Instructional Deans for schedule and space utilization. This position is responsible for course scheduling in conjunction with Academic Affairs. The Director of Enrollment Services participates in and leads college-wide committees and projects related to student success.

According to federal law, specifically The Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act of 1990 (re-named the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act in 1998), this position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) required to report certain crimes by the federally mandated Clery Act.
 
This position will be required to travel to all college locations and throughout our service community area. Additionally, this position will be required to attend meetings across the state and elsewhere as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree and substantial relevant experience in higher education
  • Supervisory experience in large departments
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws and mandates related to enrollment and student records with an understanding of institutional compliance responsibilities, including FERPA
  • Ability to research, analyze, and problem solve, and assess.
  • A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse publics and across all levels of an institution
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or doctorate in student development, higher education administration, educational leadership, or related field
  • Substantial experience in student services in higher education or related experience.
  • Ability to use technology to monitor and project enrollment trends, manage enrollment processes, enforce academic standards, and ensure academic integrity.
  • Knowledge of professional ethics, customer service, planning, organizing, problem solving, and collaborative skills.
  • Experience with Student Information Systems
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
