Administrative Assistant II, Strategic Communications and Marketing (SCM)

Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING (SCM), Alumni Association, to provide vital support to the executive director and SCM team.  Responsibilities will be focused on supporting digital marketing activities such as website updates and analytics report creation, assisting with project management processes, supporting communications project logistics, and handling key administrative duties for the executive director and the team.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; three years. administrative, office, or related experience; wide-ranging knowledge of office procedures; experience maintaining websites; strong planning, scheduling, customer service, project management, problem-solving, analytical, time management, and decision-making skills; meticulous attention to detail; a flexible approach to the working environment; ability to effectively organize oneself and others, multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines without compromising quality in a demanding, high-volume work environment; ability to work independently and collaborate as a team member who is willing to lend a hand at all times; excellent editing, proofreading, and written and oral communication skills (e.g., attention to grammar, spelling, accuracy, format, and tone); tact and good judgment with confidential information; excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to promote and foster a professional and welcoming office environment for MIT’s internal and external audiences; familiarity with e-mail and electronic calendars; and experience with PC/Apple computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and FileMaker Pro.  PREFERRED:  experience in communications and marketing/project management; experience aiding with the implementation of professional digital marketing campaigns and/or email development; experience tracking expenses and managing budgets; experience posting social media content; familiarity with database maintenance and report development; experience with email clients such as iModules, Drupal, Acoustic (formerly Silver Pop), and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.  Job #23459-5

Ability and willingness to travel and work evening and weekends is required, especially for assistance with signature initiatives and events for the Alumni Association.

This is a full-time (35 hours/week), hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
