Title: Director of Facilites

Starting Salary: $106,862

Job Summary: The Director of Facilities is responsible for managing the general maintenance and renovations, as well as overseeing build outs for all facilities owned and leased by OCHN. Responsible for effective management of the Facilities team and the overall safety of staff at Oakland Community Health Network.

Essential Functions:

Under general direction:

  • Direct the operations of staff within the facilities team.
  • Serves as primary contact and manages the needs and concerns of tenants within the administration buildings in both Troy and Pontiac.
  • Lead the Safety Committees for all OCHN locations.
  • Provide primary oversight of repairs, maintenance, and renovations.
  • Advise the executive team as to concerns regarding facilities and safety operations.
  • Serve as lead for facilities-related procurement activities.
  • Research, recommend and hire maintenance contractors and vendors, as necessary, and provide oversight of their work. Negotiate terms and conditions of vendor contracts. Ensure contracts, scope of work, and insurance requirements are satisfied before allowing any work to begin.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

  • Management training.
  • Building Management Systems and facilities training.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management.
  • Experience in leading workgroups and teams.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling systems and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of building mechanical systems including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry etc.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of effective team management practices.
  • Knowledge of effective project management practices.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of facilities procurement and effective Request for Proposal processes.
 
Job Specific Competencies/Skills:
  • Organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, MS 365, and other business-related software applications.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently, performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting.

Additional Information:

(Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.):

  • Must have available means of transportation to and from OCHN and for required offsite meetings or site visits.
  • Must be available for meetings and events which may occur outside of standard office hours.
  • Must be able to respond to building emergency situations which may occur at any time during a 24-hour period.
  • Hybrid (onsite/remote) work schedule available.
  • Work performed primarily in an office environment.
