Director of Leasing

Job Description

DIRECTOR OF LEASING, MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo)-Cambridge Real Estate (CRE) Team, to oversee all aspects of the leasing process for commercial properties, from prospecting and lead generation to lease execution and tenant move-in.  The CRE team serves as an investor, owner, operator, and developer of a high-profile real estate portfolio located exclusively in Cambridge.  Will maximize the leasing potential of the CRE portfolio by analyzing, planning, and implementing leasing strategy to attain financial and tenant mix objectives. Responsibilities include serving as primary leasing point of contact for prospective/existing tenants and the brokerage community; identifying, qualifying, originating, and negotiating terms and conditions of multi-asset class lease transactions within CRE’s portfolio; cultivating relationships with prospective tenants to maximize occupancy; maintaining/building upon existing tenant relationships; staying informed about market trends, conditions, competitor offerings, pricing strategies, lease incentives, etc.;  cultivating effective working relationships with representatives of community groups, government, industry, and other entities; acting as a lead voice in investment strategy, asset repositioning, development, acquisitions, and dispositions; and preparing leasing reports, financial analyses, and forecasts to assess leasing performance and identify areas for improvement.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in any discipline; seven years’ experience with leasing office and/or lab asset types, preferably in Greater Boston; thorough understanding of and proven track record conducting lease negotiations, lease document review, and lease administration; initiative, self-motivation, and ability to follow through on tasks; entrepreneurial and fiduciary approach; comprehensive understanding of leasing structures, terms, and tenant credit and their impact on real estate value and risk; strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; and ability and desire to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment.  Job #23443
