The Role You Play

As the CEO of our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), you will be responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the highest quality of mental healthcare services to our community, overseeing all aspects of our organization's operations, and fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with our dedicated team of mental health professionals, manage financial resources efficiently, and engage with stakeholders to enhance the center's reputation and impact in the field of mental health. The CEO will also play a crucial role in advocacy efforts, working to reduce stigma surrounding mental health, and advancing our mission to provide accessible and comprehensive mental healthcare services to those in need.

 


Essential Responsibilities:


 

  • Work cooperatively with the Board of Directors in meeting the mission and vision of Pawnee Mental Health Services
  • Provide positive leadership to achieve agency financial, organizational, and consumer services goals
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate a staff and ensure they are trained to meet the needs of their position. Administer feedback and corrective action as necessary.
  • Develop and implement strategies and procedures for carrying out initiatives formulated by the Board of Directors
  • Maintain a positive image of Pawnee in the community and good standing with governmental and licensing authorities
  • Advocate on behalf of Pawnee before governmental entities and the general public
  • Exercise sound fiscal management and control
  • Serve as liaison with County Commissioners and KDADS for funding and operational issues
  • Monitor all program service delivery objectives and initiate corrective actions as needed
  • Promote positive working relationships between Pawnee and other agencies and referral sources.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed and applied equitably
  • Approve and ensure compliance with all contracts and agreements entered into by Pawnee Mental Health Services
  • Preside over Management Team meetings and strategic planning process.
  • Represent Pawnee Mental Health Services to the Pawnee Mental Health Services Foundation .
  • Represent Pawnee Mental Health Services on the Board of Directors of the Association of Community Mental Health Centers of Kansas and related committees where the interests of Pawnee can be represented and advanced.
  • Communicate critical issues within Pawnee, as well as those impacting community mental health services on the local, state and national level to the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain and advance knowledge and skills related to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials and attendance at training events.
  • Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by Pawnee Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
  • Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Pawnee Mental Health Services Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

 


Required
:


 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Health Administration, Social Work, or related field.
  • 7 years of direct experience in administration and/or management in a mental health, human services organization, or non-profit organization. Or relevant professional level work experience. (Years of employment with Pawnee qualify)
  • Basic personal computer skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.

Preferred:


 

  • 4 years Executive level experience in healthcare, non-profit, mental heath, or related fields.
  • Master’s or PhD in Public Administration, Business Administration, Health Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software.

Health and Dental Insurance

  • Medical: Employee, Employee/Spouse, Employee/Children, and Family coverage offered; PPO networks with traditional co-pays, High-Deductible Health Plans, as well as more specialized coverage available. Coverage is available from day 1 and offered through Aetna or BCBS.
  • Dental: Employee, Employee/Spouse, Employee/Children, and Family coverage offered. Coverage will begin after 30 full days of employment and is offered through Delta Dental. Employee must be in a position of at least 30 hours or more per week to qualify.

Paid Time Off

Paid Time Off (PTO) Leave: Hourly employees start at 12 days of PTO their first year, and salary employees start at 15 days of PTO their first year. The accrual rate increases for Hourly and Salary positions after the first year.

Paid Family Leave: Positions of 30+ hours/week receive a one-time credit of 40 hours on their first day of employment.

 


Retirement

Retirement: Kansas Public Employee Retirement System (KPERS) – those holding a position of at least 1000 hours per year (full time = 2,080 hrs/year), 6% of salary is withheld to fund retirement and other benefits with an employer match of 8.9%.

Term Life Insurance: Packaged with KPERS. Value = 1.5 times annual earnings.

Disability Insurance: Long-term disability coverage packaged with KPERS.
