Job Description
The mission of Wytheville Community College is to provide a quality, comprehensive education for the citizens of the counties of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe and the city of Galax. This position calls for teaching a range of entry and intermediate-level courses across all Nursing programs at Wytheville Community College. Teaching a minimum of 12 credits per semester, courses may be taught at multiple locations during the day, evening, or through distance learning, as well as at clinical sites throughout the service region. In addition to instructional assignments, he/she will advise students in the Associate Degree Nursing program, serve on college and community committees and organizations, attend meetings, and perform other duties to meet instructional and advising needs.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Must possess an unencumbered registered nursing license in the state of Virginia upon hire; and
Must also possess a valid driver’s license.
Evidence of continuous professional development in field;
Demonstrated flexibility in working with others and meeting the needs of a diverse student population;
BLS/ACLS instructor; and
Community College teaching experience.
