Position Summary

NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME.

Under the general direction of the Associate Dean of Student Development and Success, the person in this position is responsible for supervising the College’s Testing Center and administering tests to students. In addition, this employee will counsel and advise students.

Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E4 05 ($35,769-$50,777)

Verification of experience (employment) will be required after the interview process and prior to an offer of employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Associate Dean of Student Development and Success, her supervisor, or the President.

1. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
2. Administer Placement Testing.
3. Serve as the Chief Examiner, organizing and conducting GED testing.
4. Administer and direct testing procedures for ACT National and ACT Residual testing.
5. Schedule and administer WorkKeys testing, and run reports.
6. Schedule and administer MAT assessments.
7. Coordinate with appropriate divisions to schedule testing.
8. Assist faculty with scheduling of certification exams and makeup tests.
9. Ensure examinees have complied with all testing requirements.
10. Assist and advise students regarding applications, registration, course selection, graduation requirements, and transfer process and evaluations.
11. Advise current and prospective students on degrees offered by the College and provide general information regarding College policies and procedures.
12. Coordinate, schedule, and proctor exams for external entities.
13. Explain the STARS Articulation website to students seeking information about transferring coursework.
14. Provide information regarding student registration process, programs of study and degrees offered at the college.
15. Timely enter test results into management information system.
16. Track Testing Center service utilization and provide semi-annual report to immediate supervisor.
17. Assist with training Testing Center staff.
18. Maintain inventory of Testing Center office supplies; order replacement supplies as needed.
19. Maintain, update, and amend records of departmental expenditures to ensure compliance with budget.
20. As a Campus Security Authority (CSA), report to the official or office designated by the institution to collect crime report information, such as the campus police or security department, those allegations of Clery Act crimes that the CSA concludes were made in good faith.
21. Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2. Maintain confidentiality of identified sensitive information and of departmental information.
3. Remain current in and enhance professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.
4. Interact with and serve diverse student and employee populations in a courteous and friendly manner.
5. Adhere to College standards of professionalism and confidentiality, including courteous and friendly interaction with other CVCC employees.
6. Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in State and College policies and assigned by supervisor or dean.
7. Recruit potential students, both traditional and nontraditional, to the College, and assist in retention efforts.
8. Represent the institution in a positive manner.
9. Participate in advance registration, regular registration, and schedule adjustment as assigned.
10. Serve on committees as assigned.
11. Participate in graduation.
12. Participate in the College’s planning process.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Two (2) years of full-time related experience
  • Ability to work with Pearson GED software
  • Familiarity with ACT Compass software
  • Demonstrated technology competency with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to demonstrate computer skills during screening
  • Strong work ethic
  • High degree of workplace professionalism, with excellent customer service skills
  • Self-directed with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work extended weekday and weekend schedules when needed
  • Ability to meet the public in a friendly and receptive manner
  • Effective oral and written communications skills; proficiency in the English language
