RCC delivers accessible and affordable educational opportunities, including for-credit transfer and career technical programs, robust distance education coursework, quality dual enrollment courses, and award-winning workforce training and credentialing programs. RCC’s annualized enrollment of 3,259 credit students and over 1,000 workforce and community development students are supported by over 120 full-time employees and 200 part-time/adjunct employees across two main campuses and four satellite sites.

Rappahannock Community College seeks to hire a Project Director/Data Manager to oversee the College’s Title III Strengthening Institutions grant. This position will be responsible for:

Developing and delivering a student advising model that supports equity in access and holistic student supports across the institution with intentionality in management of the student journey from first contact to graduation/credential obtainment
  • Delivering high quality, accessible learning models that support student success
  • Ensuring students are prepared for post-enrollment success
  • Providing information and resources to students to ensure access to all available funding sources
  • Developing long-term funding resources to sustain career services initiatives.
 
In addition, this position is responsible for supporting the management of the department in all related business and operational functions and maintaining an effective and confidential work environment. This position collects and analyzes data from many sources in order to show how the SIP grant and the College are adhering to the mission and other institutional and grant goals. The Title III Director/Data Manager supports the College’s ongoing effort toward continuous improvement, achieved through data-driven planning and assessment. Strategic planning and accreditation are important elements of institutional effectiveness and, thus, the Title III Director/Data Manager will assist the Dean of Research, Effectiveness, and Planning with coordination, logistics, and materials associated with strategic planning, accreditation, assessment, and compliance.
 
This is a twelve-month administrative faculty position, restricted and grant-funded. This position will be included in succession planning efforts, which will provide opportunities for career growth and development. This role will primarily be remote but will be required to be on campus at least one day per week (the specific day(s) will vary based on meeting dates/times).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Work experience in higher education
  • Demonstrated experience with grant management, program planning, and evaluation
  • Knowledge of SACSCOC accreditation
  • Program Assessment experience
  • Demonstrated expertise with statistical programming, data management, and research tools such as SPSS, SAS, etc.
  • Proficiency with database programming languages (SAS, SQL, PeopleSoft/SIS)
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office: Excel, Access, and Microsoft Word including use of pivot tables, etc.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills to ensure accuracy and integrity of data
  • Demonstrated experience in survey design and analysis and well as use of web-based survey tools (SurveyMonkey, etc.)
  • Overall effective communication skills including the ability to interact at all levels of the organization in a succinct and meaningful way. Excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with departments across the college; ability to work in a cross-functional capacity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to effectively communication technical information to non-technical colleagues
  • Ability to meet deadlines
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate preferred.
