North Seattle College is looking to hire a Human Resources Consultant in the Human Resources Department.
Salary Range for this position is $48,925 to $64,108 annually.

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, the HR Consultant 1 will be responsible for providing first level professional human resources support. The HR Consultant serves our students, faculty, and staff with responsibility for onboarding new staff, processing HRIS transactions, assisting with recruiting, coordination of performance review processes, and, and training management. As a customer service focused professional, the HR Consultant supports all members of the Colleges community in their accountability to Colleges and District policies and procedures. The HR Consultant may coordinate HR related projects and initiatives in support of HR strategic goals. The HR Consultant is a member of the district-wide Human Resources team, and will collaborate with other HR team members to create and maintain departmental cohesion across the district. This position consults with and provides assistance to managers, staff and the public regarding inquiries and service requests, provides information to clients and explains policies, rules, and regulations applicable to Human Resources. This position is responsible for the accuracy of records and proactively resolves issues within established guidelines regarding human resource issues.
This position is full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during office hours.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE and is subject to union shop provisions.

What you will be working on:

  • Manage day-to-day activities in the HRIS to include oversight of data input and verification, data security, data integrity, and data distribution. Support members of the HR Operations team with data input and entry into the HRIS.
  • Oversee and operationalize I-9 process, inclusive of conducting periodic audits.
  • Coordinate with HR Operations partners regarding leave management and timesheet matters, including but not limited to Shared Leave, FMLA, faculty sick leave, timesheet errors, exception reports, leave carryover, etc.
  • Provide information, interpretation, and resolve problems; respond to questions pertaining to Human Resources practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Approve tuition waiver requests
  • Generate assigned system reports, including ad hoc reports
  • Analyze and recommend positions’ allocation, classification, and salary
  • Conduct job analyses to identify position requirements;
  • Advises managers and search committees regarding recruitments, including developing or modifying candidate screening materials, participating in the interview process, and advising managers regarding requirements and options
  • Assist managers with crafting position descriptions
  • Support managers/supervisors regarding the recruitment and selection process and paperwork requirements;
  • Oversee and maintain record keeping related to annual performance processes
  • Conduct surveys of other employers' practices such as wages, benefits, human resource policies and programs, and participate in implementing revisions to human resource programs
  • Respond to HR-related service inquiries from employees, managers and members of the public; assesses needs, identifies and evaluates options, and recommends courses of action
  • Develop and/or assists in the development and presentation of training in HR processes and procedures

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  • Associates Degree OR equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 2 or more years of administrative experience
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience with using a human resources information system
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
