Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday


Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 14 with a minimum of $49,575 and a mid-point of $66,100. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable

Job Summary:


An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty in managing new grants and initiatives of the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division, allowing the college to build capacity in the division to receive and maintain more grant opportunities. Work involves facilitating grant implementation, monitoring spending, ensuring timely and accurate grant reporting and coordinating division and/or college-wide efforts in the community. Work is distinguished by the ability to serve as a budget officer for one or more grants, as needed. Direction is received by the assigned manager.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups both internally and externally of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Experience working with grants that focus on adult students, unemployed clients, and/or individuals with barriers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Colleague
  • Good project management skills.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Previous community college advising, education program development or case management experience preferred.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Manage and ensure compliance of grants in the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division. This includes coordinating the implementation and management of new grants by setting up internal processes such as budget, purchases tuition vouchers and billing procedures with our internal departments and managing smaller grant initiatives with others in the division to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper facilitation of grants and grant activities. This includes determining eligibility of supportive services to participants that align with the grant requirements and proper facilitation of these services in accordance to the grant and ECC’s policy and procedures. This position will also keep track of all the required reporting of those serve to our funders.
  • Act as budget officer to various grants and serve as the liaison to finance to assist with data collection monthly or annual reports and evaluation of program activities. Work with finance to ensure compliance
  • Support the Dean in division wide activities and assist with assessing the needs and coordination of meetings with external stakeholders and/or businesses
  • Support the SPEL department with employment activities and events that include but are not limited to hiring events, Hire Spartans, and interview days. This includes coordination of internal departments to ensure proper running of the events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, and other organizations who contact ECC in need of assistance with their workforce, referring them to the correct division, department or grant.
