Position Summary

The Workforce Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Workforce Development in ensuring that quality business and industry training and continuing education courses are provided to the college’s service area through the development and delivery of customized courses, short-term skills training, career pathways, and special interest courses.

SALARY
Commensurate with experience as determined on Salary Schedule E3, Grade 04 of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees salary schedules.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with daily functions of the RISE program as requested.
  • Assist in developing and implementing innovative partnerships with businesses and industry.
  • Assist with the follow-up with business and industry representatives regarding the effectiveness of TEBI classes.
  • Coordinate Skills for Success trainings with business and industry and local K-12 schools.
  • Assist in the coordination of developing new curriculums for Skills for Success.
  • Assist the Director of Workforce Development in recruiting business and industry.
  • Coordinate timelines and curriculum for customized training for business and industry.
  • Work closely with student services and marketing to promote the advertising of courses and to coordinate efforts to recruit students.
  • Attend appropriate workshops and trainings as requested by the Director of Workforce Development or President.
  • Coordinate department program registration process.
  • Maintain records pertaining to training programs, such as course information, registration forms, and evaluation forms.
  • Attend Regional Workforce meetings and economic development meetings.
  • Coordinate and attend awareness and exploration activities with local schools.
  • Assist in developing innovative events for the Career Cruiser.
  • Assist in increasing the number of registered apprenticeships and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Assist in managing continuing education opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials for all workforce development and continuing education courses.
  • Assist the Director of Workforce Development with the coordination of workforce development and continuing education courses.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of employment forms for each workforce development and continuing education course.
  • Assist in the development of the workforce development and continuing education course schedule.
  • Be responsible for supplies, equipment, books, and learning resources needed for workforce development and continuing education.
  • Develop monthly non-credit financial reports and submit them to the president’s office.
  • Develop monthly non-credit enrollment reports and submit them to the president’s office.
  • Provide information for reports requested by the college administration.
  • Submit requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Produce and distribute certificates of completion to training participants.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other agencies, departments, visitors, and the general public so that accurate information is given and obtained.
  • Serve as a proctor for various industry-recognized certification assessments.
  • Manage the utilization of the WorkKeys assessment system.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the college’s “Approved Provider Status” with the Alabama Board of Nursing for workforce development classes.
  • Utilize the Ellucian Banner ERP system to manage course setup and enrollment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the program and the institution.
  • Serve on College committees as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Experience managing projects. Experience using the current version of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
