This well-known Short-Term Acute Care hospital in Northern Washington State is actively interviewing for a Vice President of Nursing / CNO to oversee patient care operations. Join this trusted and progressive medical center as the CNO, and lead an experienced administrative and clinical team.

The VP of Nursing will oversee all operations that relate to nursing care in this community-based Acute Care Medical Center. Recognized at the local, state, and national-level as a high-performing hospital, the CNO will play in integral part in driving the processes and initiatives that make this possible. This person will take central responsibility for a nursing service lines which are known for superior patient outcomes and community centered care.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Nursing Vice President will oversee an extensive nursing program and be supported by an amazing team. Directly reporting to the CNO, and supporting the hospital’s mission of superior patient care, is a tenured team of RN Nursing Directors who oversee Medical Surgical, Critical Care Services (ICU), the Emergency Department (ED), Perioperative Services, and other Specialty Nursing Departments.

The incoming Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will take primary responsibility for ensuring effective operations throughout the Acute Care hospital and outpatient clinic system with regards to clinical and administrative activities. As the primary spokesperson for patient care, you’ll serve as an expert to the CEO and Board of Directors on matters pertaining to improving or maintaining the standards of quality care. The VP of Nursing Services will work with other health system leaders to formulate and implement improvement projects that will touch service line quality, overall patient satisfaction, budgetary discretion, and long-term patient care strategy for a changing population.

Given the wide range of responsibilities required of the CNO, this person should have senior leadership experience as the head of multiple service lines in an inpatient / acute care environment. Experience as a Chief Nursing Officer or Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital will surely earn quick feedback and interviews. Other valuable experience includes leadership in an integrated healthcare environment, as well as leadership in Rural Health Organizations with strong missions of delivering community service and value.
