Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The Associate Scientist will perform genome mining of microbial genetic sequences, aiming to identify promising biosynthetic gene clusters for production of bioactive natural products, such as antibiotics and immunomodulatory agents. Following the identification of the gene clusters, the corresponding compounds will be produced, and the biosynthetic logic and associated enzymology will also be studied. In addition, the biological and/or physiological activities of the compounds discovered will be explored. |

Minimum Qualifications | The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field with at least three years’ of postdoctoral research experience by the start date of employment, plus expertise in natural products metabolomics, biosynthesis, and biological evaluation, as well as strong communication and writing skills in English. |
