Position Overview | The position will focus on research in agronomic management of irrigated culinary yellow, oriental, and brown mustard grown for spice, by conducting field studies to evaluate the optimal seeding rates, nutrient rates (nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, manganese, boron, and zinc), and nitrogen application timing. The candidate will also conduct herbicide tolerance and weed control trials. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the mustard trials that includes, collecting data, processing samples, and working with the PI’s to draft manuscripts for publication. Recommendations for nutrient management, crop yield and spice quality, weed control, and economics will be disseminated to stakeholders through grower meetings, field days, popular press articles, and Extension bulletins. |
