Assistant Professor (Biochemistry)

Job Description


The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor to pursue a research program that addresses biological questions at the mechanistic, biochemical level. We will prioritize candidates whose research plans emphasize biochemical approaches to molecular and cell biology, developmental biology, or microbial biology. The successful applicant is expected to establish an externally funded research program, direct the research of students at the doctoral, masters, and undergraduate levels, and interact with a our molecular, cell, and developmental biologists, as well as with our ecologists and evolutionary biologists.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree and relevant postdoctoral research experience. Commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected, and the application of innovative pedagogical approaches is highly valued.
