Post Doctoral Scholar

To pursue continued education and experience in research under the general supervision of a senior mentor. The focus of the work will include research on controlled environment agriculture of ized crops considering stratified substrates, water management, and agrichemical fate, as well as other topics by mutual agreement with the postdoctoral mentor.

Duties will include:

  • coordinating multiple experiments; collecting and analyzing data and writing manuscripts and reports; running and maintaining instruments used in plant, soil, and water research, such as liquid chromatography, growth chambers, gas exchange equipment, dataloggers, and other analytical instruments; preparation of presentations and attending, participating, or presenting at meetings, seminars, and conferences as needed.

This position will be based on the OSU Wooster campus and will report to Dr. Steve W. Lyon (mentor).

Required Education/Experience

A doctoral degree in plant, agronomy, horticulture, or soil science or any related discipline (e.g., environmental/ agricultural engineering) with a background in water and soil or substrate chemistry and physics is required. Experience working with crops in controlled environments in agriculture or hydroponic crop production is desired.
