SUMMARY:

The Workforce Center Director reports to the Dean of Career, Technical, and Workforce Education. The Director shall be responsible for general supervision of all workforce programs conducted in the Copiah-Lincoln Community College District.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Gives general direction and supervision in coordinating and carrying out of policy for all workforce projects.
2. Recommends to the Dean of Career, Technical, and Workforce Education the workforce staff for employment and dismissal.
3. Maintains workforce record keeping.
4. Initiates requests for purchases and reimbursement procedures for the workforce division.
5. Coordinates and prepares the workforce division budget and submits it to the Dean of Career, Technical, and Workforce Education.
6. Recommends termination or initiation of workforce projects.
7. Maintains rapport and serves as the liaison with the state staff and other state and local agencies.
8. Coordinates all workforce reporting.
9. Appoints workforce advisory committee and conducts committee meetings.
10. Coordinates workforce equipment inventory control.
11. Develops and implements annual assessment plans and compiles data/results for inclusion in the College’s Annual Assessment Report.
12. Serves as the point of contact for all workforce training needs district-wide.
13. Communicates with all campus Vice Presidents regarding business and industry visits and training in their respective areas or campuses.
14. Supervises WIN Job Center Operator Grant.
15. Deliver college workforce training presentations as requested.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Earned Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business or closely related field
  • Seven (7) years of full-time business or industry work experience
  • Four (4) years of supervisory work experience.
  • Detailed reporting/record keeping/budget experience
  • Initiative
  • Flexibility
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Earned Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business or closely related field
  • Previous Workforce Education Experience
  • Experience in Public Speaking

ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS:

  • The work environment is an office setting with moderate noise.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
