Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The Postdoctoral Fellow will assist the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators in developing and extending NiiVue. This software leverages the collective wisdom of the AFNI, brainlife, FSL, FreeSurfer, neurodesk and nilearn teams to provide visualization for the data generated in our domain (voxels, meshes, connectomes, and statistical overlays). This individual is responsible for developing NiiVue and integrating it into deployed applications and jupyter notebooks. The ideal candidate will have experience with the JavaScript and Python programming languages as well as the tools, workflows and terminology of the neuroimaging domain. This position could be filled by someone seeking to be a full time software developer or one interested in an academic position. In the latter case, the candidate should have the skills to develop scientific papers and grants. |

Minimum Qualifications | PhD degree in area of specialty (neuroimaging, computer programming, data science) and the ability to develop JavaScript code and work effectively with a motivated international team of developers. |
Preferred Qualifications | PhD degree in relevant field: Computer Programming, Neuroscience. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Experience with computer programming. The ideal candidate will be proficient in JavaScript, Matlab, React, and Python. Experience with languages that can be compiled to web assembly, WebGL and neuroimaging (in particular user interfaces) are assets. Candidate should have some of these skills and aptitude and motivation to develop the rest. |
