Compensation: Hourly Rate of $8.56 as per the Santa Fe College Salary Schedule. Limited to no more than 25 hours per week.
Description:
The Disabilities Resource Center (DRC) is seeking a highly organized candidate to fill a Part-time Educational Aide position. The individual filing this position must maintain a 2.0 GPA and must be available to work Monday – Thursday morning and Friday afternoons This position will provide general administrative and office support for the DRC functions as well as facilitate accommodation support (e.g. reading and scribing for students who are blind) for students with disabilities registered for services at the DRC. This individual will interact with students and guests who visit the DRC and collaborate with the entire office to provide support and services to students, faculty, and other professionals across the campus.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet and assist students and staff who visit the DRC
- Answer incoming calls, take messages, distribute mail, distribute office supplies, operate and maintain copier/printer
- Schedule appointments for DRC staff
- Scanning documents
- Use office equipment such as copy machines, laminators, and document shredders
- Occasional cleaning of rooms to include wiping down desks in the testing room, computer lab, breakroom, and sanitizing desks/chairs
- Provide service of excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Disabilities Resources Center Assistant
Qualifications:
Required: The Educational Aide must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic standing (minimum GPA of 2.0), and enrolled in six (6) or more credit hours.
Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Students with diversity experience, especially those with interest in working with people with disabilities.
