POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Executive Officer is a compassionate visionary with experience in community leadership, civic outreach, strategic development, fiscal management, and exemplary team building.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for administration and leadership of the agency, including community and political outreach needed to maximize the quantity of clients served and quality of services provided. Represents the organization in public arenas, engages in local, state, and national outreach, to learn from and gain support for Esperanza’s mission. Maintains ongoing awareness of developments and trends in the domestic violence community.
  • Accountable for oversight of compliance with federal, state, local statues, ordinances, and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with all granting authority requirements and all contracts.
  • Provides oversight and support for managers of key areas such as: Operations, Programming, and Victims Services, Community Outreach and Development
  • Directly manages key leaders such as: COO. Serves as the face of public relations and media efforts, including partnership building and organizational collaboration with other community service providers and governmental agencies. Serves as spokesperson for agency in all official communications. Writes, reviews, and approves Memorandum of Agreements with collaborative partners.
  • Collaborates with the Board on agency’s strategic plan and ensures execution. Communicates challenges and offers possible solutions.
  • Develops resources and funding streams to ensure the financial health of the organization. Works closely with Development Director to create a comprehensive fund development program, and to find and solicit government support.

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of the dynamics and issues related to domestic violence, services, and advocacy.
  • Organizational development.
  • Strong personnel management and development skills.
  • Experience in creating and/or maintaining high visibility as a community partner.
  • Able to develop and fund innovative housing solutions.
  • Financially literate. Clear understanding of all financial reporting. Ability to work effectively with finance team on solutions to drive financial stability.
  • Ability to identify and develop reporting on key performance indicators.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, flexible, ability for limited travel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Board of Directors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Psychology, related field or a combination of relevant education, experience totaling five (5) years.
  • Eight (8) years of increasingly sophisticated management experience in a non-profit agency, community-based organization, business or other human service setting.
  • Must be knowledgeable of CYFD, VOCA and HUD regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish.
  • Executive Director experience, leadership position in a non-profit environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
