The School of Business & Public Leadership at Johnson University invites applications for a full-time Director of Accounting Program/Professor of Accounting. Reports to: Dean, School of Business & Public Leadership
Base Pay: Competitive

Required education: Master’s or terminal degree in accounting from a regionally accredited university, and a CPA license

SUMMARY

This is a full-time director/faculty position, with the rank of Professor or Associate Professor. This individual reports to the Dean, School of Business and Public Leadership. The Director of the Accounting Program shall be responsible for all aspects of the academic program including, but not limited to, marketing, recruiting, advising, program delivery, assessment, and evaluation. The Director will be the key external face of the academic program

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to clearly convey information and ideas to others and demonstrate active listening skills
  • Demonstrated success in developing, evaluating, and leading programs
  • Experience working in high-performance, collaborative peer groups
  • Polished, credible communicator with persuasive verbal and written communication skills
  • Primary commitment to and passion for Johnson University’s vision, mission, and ethos
  • Become proficient (with provided training) in the Sakai learning management platform
  • Design and deliver online class instruction through the development of lesson plans to meet course competencies, the development of activities that support lesson objectives, and the development of activities to assist students in developing critical thinking skills and practically engaging with the materials
  • Experienced practitioner/scholar – abreast of developments within the accounting discipline and practical knowledge gained from organizational experience
  • Coordinate affiliate faculty training and professional development

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily sedentary, working at a desk in a climate-controlled office.
  • Some outdoor conditions when dealing with special events.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends and travel required for special events or conferences.
