Job Description:
The Jen Schwarz Theoretical Physics Group at Syracuse University is seeking a postdoc to conduct research on rigidity, shape, and learning transitions in living and nonliving matter. More specifically, the postdoc will be grappling with projects ranging from:
(1) uncovering the emergent, multiscale structure and mechanics of brain organoids using a next-generation cellular-based model that includes deformable nuclei,
(2) exploring the predictive power of rigid clusters in frictional jamming,
(3) designing intelligent materials, i.e., the material is the brain, based on physics approaches to learning.
