Job Summary
The Director of Admissions reports directly to the Vice President for Enrollment Management. This position is primarily responsible for the recruitment activities and admissions cycle for traditional, incoming undergraduate students. This position will assist with CPC travel planning, training of new admissions staff, and must be available for flexible evening and weekend recruitment events. The Director of Admissions will also be responsible for assisting the VP of Enrollment in managing the day to day operations of the Office of Admissions and for recruiting transfer students to the main campus undergraduate programs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Admissions Director Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with VPEM, assist with travel planning for CPC college fairs, high school visits and other off site recruitment efforts.
  • Oversee training and recruitment of new student ambassadors who provide campus tours to prospective students.
  • Manage outreach and recruitment efforts of the admissions representatives in accordance with their assigned recruitment goals.
  • Support daily admission operations and collaborate with faculty, staff and admissions team to meet established recruitment goals.

Transfer Outreach and Recruitment to include:

  • Recruit main campus undergraduate students within the established recruitment goals.
  • Respond quickly and effectively via email, phone calls, text messages, social media, and other communication methods to connect with prospective students and their families.
  • Develop relationships with prospective students and their families while serving as a personal point of contact through the entire admissions process including: application, transcript, scholarship, and financial aid.
  • Work in tandem with the faculty, staff, coaches, and administration to maximize recruitment efforts.
  • Utilize all recruitment technology devoted to organizing and holding student data for the purposes of interdepartmental communication and strategic recruitment.
  • Participate in all on-campus recruiting and scholarship events.
  • Display a professional attitude and presence in all aspects of the job.

Travel to include:

  • Work with the Vice President for Enrollment Management to determine travel plans for recruitment of transfer students.
  • Represent Southwestern College at College Fairs, High School and Community College Visits, Special Events, and other external recruitment based efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a four year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to serve.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience working in Web, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Social Media platforms, and be skilled in managing basic office tasks.
