The School of Teacher Education (STE) in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a dynamic individual with strong teaching, supervision, and interpersonal skills to join the Exceptional Student Education program on the Orlando campus. Our Exceptional Student Education program offers degrees at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The ESE degrees at UCF prepare students to impact a diverse population of students and families using research-based, developmentally appropriate practices. The graduate programs are designed to meet the needs of professionals who want to work with students and their families. The School of Teacher Education invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure earning, visiting lecturer position, anticipated to begin Fall 2024.  This is a visiting position, renewable up to four academic years.

The selected candidate will contribute to STE and the Exceptional Student Education program’s mission and vision at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Supervise field and internship field experiences.

The successful candidate will also be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the faculty to enhance program decisions and ensure program requirements are met.

  • Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Have a commitment to working with community partners to preferred qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. from an accredited institution in a related field by time of appointment.

  • At least 3 years of K-12 teaching experience in Exceptional Student Education (ESE).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience preparing students for careers in both traditional and non-traditional educational settings.

  • Experience in working with or teaching undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Experience as a leader, facilitator, or coordinator of an educational program.

  • Experience with clinical supervision of interns at the university level.

  • A record of commitment to communicate and work collaboratively with faculty, various programs, and students.

  • Demonstrated commitment to work with community partners.
